Booking Fees and Enrolment

We have a $40 non-refundable booking fee when enrolling your child.
When you enrol, we work with you to find hours and days to suit you to our best ability. Spaces are subject to availability.
Siblings of enrolled children are given first preference to available spaces as this supports our family environment and assists whanau with finding care for their family.
If you need to change your hours, please consult with management.
Attendance
Our Centre is staffed according to the scheduled children's bookings, therefore if your child is booked to attend and is absent, full fees do apply.
If your child will not be attending their booked days or you are running late at drop off or pick up, please let us know as soon as possible.
Two weeks notice is needed if withdrawing your child from the Centre.
Settling In
We require children in our Koru Room to have at least two visits with whanau before they start at Strawberry Garden and there is a minimum of five visits in our Pepe Room.
This is influenced by our belief that the relationship is all, and with prior visits with whanau, children can explore the environment and start to make connections with a familiar face supporting them.
When you enrol your child, the team will discuss these visits with you and plan them alongside you.
Fee Schedule
Fee Policy effective from June 2025
1. Minimum booking requirement: We have a minimum booking requirement of 6 hours per day, for a minimum of 3 days per week.
2. Weekly fee payments: Fees must be paid weekly in advance to support the centre’s operational costs.
3. Overdue accounts: If your child’s fees remain unpaid for more than two weeks, their enrolment may be suspended. Outstanding balances may be referred to a debt collection agency, with any collection costs added to your account.
4. Charges during absences: Full fees are charged for 52 weeks of the year, including statutory holidays, school holidays, and when your child is absent due to illness.
5. Extended sick leave: If your child is unwell for two weeks or more and a doctor’s certificate is provided, you may be eligible for a 50% fee reduction for the period of absence.
6. Holiday discount: A 50% reduced holiday fee is available if your child will be absent for a full booked week or more. To qualify, please provide at least two weeks’ notice, complete a holiday booking form, and ensure your account is up to date. Each child is eligible for up to four weeks of reduced holiday fees per year, starting from 1 June annually.
7. Sibling discount: A 10% discount is available for the oldest sibling enrolled at the centre.
8. Christmas closure: The centre closes for one week over the Christmas period. You will be informed of the specific dates in advance each year.
9. Annual fee review: Fees are subject to an annual review in June, with any revisions becoming effective from the beginning of July. An additional review and subsequent revision may be undertaken at our discretion during the course of the year.
10. Payment method: We prefer all fees to be paid by automatic payment or internet banking. This allows our teachers to stay focused on providing quality education and care.
11. Booking fee: A non-refundable $40 booking fee is required upon enrolment.
12. Notice of withdrawal: If your child is leaving the centre, two weeks’ written notice is required.
13. Late pick-up fees: A late fee of $1 per minute applies for children collected after their booked finish time. Please ensure timely pick-ups, as our staff have families and commitments outside of work.
14. Change of sessions: To request a change in your child’s enrolled days or times, please email the centre directly. All requests will be considered based on availability.
